About the FCT Universal Basic Education Board

Committed to providing accessible, equitable, and quality basic education across the Federal Capital Territory.

The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT UBEB) is the agency responsible for implementing the Federal Government’s Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme within the FCT. Established to ensure that every child of school age has access to free and quality education, the Board oversees policy implementation, teacher development, infrastructure, and curriculum delivery across all FCT public basic schools.

Through collaboration with local and international partners, the Board continues to drive innovation, inclusion, and improvement in the delivery of education for the benefit of learners, teachers, and communities across the Territory.

Organizational Structure

The FCT UBEB operates under the supervision of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) through the Education Secretariat. The Board is composed of the Executive Chairman, Secretary, Directors, and Heads of Departments responsible for Curriculum, School Services, Finance, Administration, and Quality Assurance.

This structure ensures efficient management and coordination of all UBE activities across the six Area Councils in the FCT, enabling effective policy execution and accountability.
